Latest version of Domino – Version 8.5.3

The eagerly awaited new release of Domino has arrived in the form of 8.5.3. This maintenance release fixes over 1206 reported SPR issues, but also brings new features and functionality to both Domino and the Notes client. Additionally, there is a new version of Traveler, the mobile solution for Notes.

Earlier this year, we announced our decision to invest in the reinvigoration of our Quality programme. This was in direct response to some service issues we had started to experience as a result of our growth over the past few years. In the Spring, we carried out a benchmark survey to establish a level of overall Customer satisfaction the results of which were published in our last e-newsletter.

The next release of DOCOVA is now here with a number of key new features. These features have largely come about as a result of a large project that Time Technology has been working on with DLI in the UK.

So, changes are afoot in the world of Lotus. We can cuss and moan about the way in which the Lotus product set has been kicked around within IBM, but that will not change the reality. Notes/Domino is still a fantastic platform for Mail and Collaborative Applications.

The first step in being preparing for the future in terms of Lotus and Domino is to web-enable Lotus Notes applications. This step makes sense because of the growing user demands to provide access to applications from mobile devices and the cost drivers that point to moving some elements of ones infrastructure to the Cloud.
