Version 3 of DOCOVA

The next release of DOCOVA is now here with a number of key new features. These features have largely come about as a result of a large project that Time Technology has been working on with DLI in the UK.
For those of you that have not seen DOCOVA before, we would encourage you to attend one of our webinars or ask for a one-to-one demo to show how utilising a standard document management structure we can quickly and easily build process driven applications. Delivered via a browser with a consistent UI, there is also tight integration with both IBM and Microsoft e-mail platforms.
There is a very long list of enhancements to this release for both server and client. Some of our particular favorites are:
- Document Compare
- This provides the ability for a user to select two Word documents and then get DOCOVA to compare and present the changes back either in Word or PDF format. This functionality is particularly useful for very quickly seeing changes in policies or contracts and is now out of the box functionality.
- Related Documents
- One of the shortcomings with most document management ECM solutions is the ability to cross link documents either manually or automatically. DOCOVA now supports this out of the box and additionally provides a related links section to bring in other content like website URL’s.
- Printing Control
- This enhancement creates a PDF version of a document when it is placed or updated within DOCOVA. The advantage of this is that you can then control who can print a document or superimpose some text on printed version.
- Multi-Server and Off-Line use
- DOCOVA has always existed in a multi-server environment but now the management of this has been improved. In addition, by utilising Domino Offline Services, you can take DOCOVA off-line with a replicated model that works against group security.
- Keywords Configuration Database
- New functionality has been added to have a central keyword database that is accessible via the DOCOVA interface. This gives easy update of keywords (for drop down lists) without the need to go in to the design of the application.
