As a result of an audit, this automotive parts manufacturer needed to close some identified gaps in order to maintain their ISO certification. Relying on manual paper based processes, they were struggling to consistently show proof that processes and work instructions had been understood and followed.
Vuteq Canada already used Docova for some of their document management needs, so it was an easy decision to leverage this flexible product to control a number of their key processes. Docova contained all the standard Document and Workflow management functionality that they needed: Audit tracking, policy management, programmable workflow and security control.
The key benefits that the solution brought were as follows:
1 Non-conformance / Corrective Action tracking
The time to complete this process reduced from a few hours whilst also providing the appropriate audit trails that the auditors required.
2 Training Matrix
One of the ISO requirements was demonstrable training matrices review and update every 90 days. Using Docova’s integrated review policy feature, review reminders were fully automated along with appropriate escalation paths.
3 Quality Alerts
The need to still work with some paper is inevitable, particularly in manufacturing where there are shop floor workers that do not have access to computers. Vuteq Canada used Docova to control the tracking of the “who- what-when” details pertaining to quality alerts and changes that needed to be manually posted on the shop floor. Overall, the use of Docova resulted in significant productivity gains as well as addressing the auditors concerns
